Learning Report: An Educational Analysis of an Online Course in Adobe Flash

Assumptions

Academic programs change with the needs of the community, be it local or global in nature. As feedback is received from the stakeholders, new courses are added, modified, or removed. As such, the fulfillment of academic requirements are a moving target and must be taken in context in the time period in which they were valid. The course, for which this report was created, was designed and implemented using information that was obtained during a graduate program that spanned the dates of April 2004 through July 2006. A number of the courses that are referred to in this document are no longer offered. Regardless, the fundamentals of educational theory remain constant.

It is the author's opinion that fundamental change to educational theory happens over a period of years; not semesters. While courses have combined, changed, and disappeared, the mission and goals of the program, as a whole, have remained constant. Wherever possible, this analysis will attempt to address the "bigger picture." The single biggest assumption that is being made in this analysis is that a good education can be had in a totally online environment.
